On July 12, 2009, Ben Harper and Relentless7 captivated a massive crowd of 250,000 with a blistering performance that outshone the fireworks that accompanied it to close the Montreal International Jazz Festival on its 30th Anniversary. "What a memorable show. Ben Harper's Relentless7 sublimely inspired, rocking like hell," raves André Ménard, Creative Director of Le Festival de Jazz de Montréal.

Urgent. Infectious. Energized. That’s how Ben Harper and Relentless7 have been characterized and this special CD/DVD combo perfectly captures their impassioned artistry. Music critics praised the band's performance with statements such as: "Ben Harper and the Restless 7: worthy of fireworks" (Journal de Montreal) and "Ben Harper powerfully espresses himself. Uncompromisingly intense, the pedal to the metal." (Le Devoir).

The band too were incredibly moved by their experience of closing the esteemed Montreal Jazz Festival. "One of the greatest festivals in the world, in one of the greatest cities in the world, the Montreal International Jazz Festival has long been a musical home for me. This show was exceptionally special to myself and band because it felt like the entire city was there with us that night," says Ben Harper.

The CD/DVD which will be released on March 9, 2010 gives those who attended the opportunity to relive the excitement of this unforgettable performance. It also allows fans who missed the event a chance to still experience the magic, including exciting covers of 'Under Pressure' & 'Red House.'

One of the best mobster movies ever made gets the special edition treatment in Goodfellas 20th Anniversary Edition ($24 USD). With a good — but not great — high-definition transfer, the film looks better than ever before, only helping to highlight the masterful direction by Martin Scorcese and career-best acting turns by Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco, and a solid supporting role by some guy named De Niro. Dual commentary tracks, and a second disc with a handful of documentaries and other special features round out the set.

If you dont know by now, we over here at Offshoot are mac obsessed. One of the things we always wished we has was a remote control-type attachemtn for  our iPhone or iPod touch so we could use it as the remote for our home theater systems or the flat screen TV that we lost the actual remote for.

Although Apple doesn't look like it will be building one in anytime soon, the L5 iPhone Remote ($50 USD) is here to fill the void. This miniscule Dock-connecting accessory and companion app let you "build" your own interface using a library of buttons within the app, and then use the on-screen remote to control damn near any product you'd like using nothing but your iPhone or iPod touch.

Brilliant.

Hi-Def takes MJ and links him up with artists like Wale and Wiz Khalifa on some dope ass beats. Minus the tags on the tracks, this EP is original and hot as sh*t.
